About Us > Uri Schneider

Uri Schneider M.A. CCC-SLP became a partner in Schneider Speech Pathology in September, 2005. His broad range of Speech-Language Pathology experience and interests, as well as his sensitivity, creativity and positive spirit are welcome additions to Schneider Speech Pathology. 

Uri received his masters degree in speech-language pathology from Queens College, CUNY, after receiving a bachelor's degree in Linguistics and Communication Disorders from Queens College, CUNY.  He graduated Magna Cum Laude, and he was awarded the prestigious Mitsui USA Scholarship while studying business at Queens College. He has attended post-graduate professional conferences on stuttering, voice, language development, Autistic Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and school-age language, and he completed training with Lindamood-Bell Learning Systems as well as training in other literacy intervention programs (Orton-Gillingham, Wilson, etc.).

Uri's dynamic professional experience has included corporate media training at Virgil Scudder & Associates - preparing professionals for public speaking and interviews with television, radio and print media - as well as extensive experience working as a speech-language pathologist with children and adults in varied settings (i.e. NYC Department of Education schools, hospitals, private practice and as a consultant).

Uri serves on the Health Advisory Committee of Worldwide B'Above Headstart and he is a member of local, state and national professional organizations - ASHA, NYSSLHA, and LISHA.  Uri currently serves as a Speech-Language Pathologist at the renowned Summit School in Queens, working with school-age children with ADD/ADHD, language learning disabilities, Autistic Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and emotional disabilities.

He has been recognized as a dynamic lecturer, presenting professional seminars and workshops at the national ASHA convention, Manhattan Eye Ear and Throat Hospital, The Summit School, Worldwide B'Above Headstart, and the AVICHAI Foundation.

In addition to his professional achievements, Uri has been an active member of the local and international Jewish community. He studied in the Rabbinical Seminary at Lander College. As one of the founding Executive Board Members of the Orthodox Union's Young Leadership Cabinet, Uri serves on the OU's Community and Synagogue Services Commission, and received the National Young Leadership Founders Award. He has served as the co-founder of KGHShuls (a community-wide neighborhood listserve), co-founder and co-president of Congregation Kehilas Ishei Yisrael; an advisor and founding "father" of the Lev Avos Shidduch Project; and founder of Sheves Achim Oneg Project. He has been invited to participate in educational programs in cities in the United States and overseas in Belarus and Israel.

Uri resides in Queens, NY with his wife and two sons.
