BATYA TENENBAUM

Batya Tenenbaum M.S. CCC-SLP* is an associate in Schneider Speech.

Batya’s passion to support people who stutter was sparked by her role in the stuttering evaluation team at Brooklyn College, CUNY. Batya has a breadth of experience treating children and adults for a wide range of disorders such as autism, articulation, expressive and receptive language, stuttering, feeding and voice.  During her 10 years as a school based SLP, she collaborated with teachers, parents and other professionals to meet the needs of students in the classroom and beyond.

Currently, Batya is a Supervisor of Speech Improvement in the Department of Education in NYC. In her role, she coaches and guides a team of SLPs in clinical skills and best practices. In recent years, she developed professional development resources for school-based SLPs in the New York City Department of Education to deliver more holistic treatment for students who stutter. Her thinktank brings together beginners and experienced SLPs as well as voices of people who stutter to create collaborative tools and resources for more creative therapy and more effective treatment plans. She also launched a popular stuttering support group for middle school and high school students.

Batya enjoys playing board games, biking, and traveling. Her innovation, caring personality, and positivity is so encouraging to her friends, family, and clients.
